Green future: intelligent turbines effectively predict to use the energy resources

Smart air turbine can predict change, so the wind can significantly improve efficiency. The existing turbines are rotated by the wind and adjust the blade angle to work, and for complex and changing wind conditions, this approach can only work in some cases. However, using a class called LIDAR laser radar device can be monitored to 200 meters away from the turbines at the wind speed, the Danish Ris? National Renewable Energy Laboratory (Ris? National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy) in the care of the ? Phil Mickelson (Torben Mikkelsen ) says.
According to Mickelson introduction, had previously worked on the ground type LIDAR, used to monitor wind conditions. However, the laser device placed between the turbine blades the engine compartment, so as to continuously monitor the first time in the future wind conditions. Meanwhile, Mickelson said, using this prediction method is also the first time continued to adjust the turbine.
According to Mickelson, said remote monitoring of wind conditions can be set aside some time to change the blade direction and height, in order to achieve maximum efficiency. This approach can also reduce the need for the turbine load (in extreme wind conditions the maximum load can be reduced by 50%), extended equipment life. Nordex N90 2.5 MW turbine test results show that under appropriate conditions, LIDAR can improve turbine efficiency and the maximum of 8%.
